A-Z Blog Challenge: B

For the letter B in the A-Z blog challenge, I’ve decided to blog about believability.

When writing under the fantasy genre, there are a lot of people that think an author has free reign in how they want to share their story.  And in many ways that’s true.  We can create some fascinating situations and worlds.  But making the story flow so the reader gets into it so deep that they are glued to the pages can be tricky.  Everything needs to fit.  People need to be able to relate to it.  This leaves an impression and makes your story memorable.

Unless you’re aiming for totally archetypal characters or they are purely animalistic, give even your antagonist a slight redeeming quality.  It deepens the emotional impact the story will have on the reader…and have them coming back for the next book.

Excellent choice for a B word because to me believability is everything. Not just could this happen but would this character respond like this? And you're right, even fantasy has to have believability in its own way.

New follower, I look forward to more!
