September’s Saturday Character Questionnaire

As a writer, I know how sometimes it’s difficult to make your character into a real person.  We need to portray them as three dimensional, but they just aren’t coming alive.  And nobody wants a hero/heroine that’s flat and has no depth.  Well, never fear.  I found the mother of all character interviews!  That’s right.  This thing is 253 questions long.

So…I’ve broken it down into four posts.

Through the month of September, every Saturday I will post another section of this sixteen part character questionnaire.  This list was compiled by Anastasia V. Pergakis and with her permission I’m able to pass it along to you.

Hi Charlene! Thanks for sharing this...Knowing a character inside and out puts the author on the inside, inside his/her characters skin, inside their head - these are great questions to do just that.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Great list of questions. I have a questionnaire I already use but this one is more complete.

Kay Dee- It does help to get to know the character better when they just aren't cooperating by "showing" themselves. Some of mine are so vivid they demand to be known. Lol. Others, I have to prod a bit.

Christine- It really is a big questionnaire. Lol. I don't know if I know myself enough to answer some of these questions much less a character!

Susan- I think Anastasia really went all out to dive into the character's psyche. The questions bring out everything! I've never used one like this either.
